Grounding Meditation for Healing Back Pain

Everything that we take in on a daily basis, whether consciously or unconsciously, has an affect our energy and can either raise or lower our vibrations. This can either lead to health and healing, or pain and suffering.

Along my healing journey, I found meditation really helped me to become mindful about what I put into my body, not just food choices, but also thoughts and impressions from the environment around me.

I became aware of the world from an energetic viewpoint and my life changed beyond words!

Do you know that everything in the entire Universe is energy?

Everything is vibrating and pulsating and each and every one of us vibrate at different frequencies depending on what we think and feel.

Once we realize that everything is energy, including the human body, our perceptions change, opening us up to a new dimension and higher states of consciousness. In this state of awareness we have the potential to completely transform our lives.

The most fundamental level of addressing pain is going within the human energy system. The systems of our anatomic and physiological make-up are tangible, they consist of solid matter and we know they are there, they are physical. The energy system is invisible and although we cannot see it with the human eyes we can feel it within our etheric body.

The human body is an energetic system in which the Universal life force flows. We have 7 main energy centres (chakras) in the body situated along the spine. Energy controls all functions in the body and mind which has an effect on our entire being.

Chakras are multi-dimensional gateways that allow us to access different states of consciousness and they govern different aspects of our health and well-being. We also have many minor chakras that assist our major chakras and they are situated parallel on both sides of the body to maintain balance and alignment of all systems.

The chakras are associated with the rainbow colours and each one holds a different vibration and frequency. They emanate electromagnetic energy into our auras creating sheaths, also known as koshas, around our physical body. These sheaths relate to different aspects of our being and layers of our consciousness. Our aura extends roughly 20 feet into our surroundings attracting that which we vibrate.

Lower back pain indicates there is an imbalance in the lower chakras, predominantly Muladhara (root chakra) and Swadhistana (sacral chakra). We can work on the lower aspects of these chakras that are creating disharmony in your systems to alleviate pain and suffering.

In today’s meditation you begin your journey deep into the mysterious layers of your true self, strengthening your roots and foundation as you connect with your physical body helping to eliminate your pain.

Muladhara – Root Chakra

Muladhara, our first chakra, resonates with the colour red and the element of earth. It takes a whole first chakra to be here on earth and our root chakra grounds us to Mother Earth, who provides nourishment for our spiritual development. Awareness of muladhara illuminates the Light of Knowledge, raising human consciousness.

This is the gateway to the physical dimension and our existence here on Earth. This chakra connects us to the material physical existence and our ability to manifest our needs. It is situated at the base of the spine. The inner state of this chakra is stillness, security and stability.

When balanced, you will have a healthy body, feel grounded, strong, courageous, stable, and secure and have an abundance of energy.

Is your root chakra balanced?

Governing our skeletal and digestive systems, physical imbalance in this chakra relates to lower back, hip and leg pain, constipation, diarrhoea, piles, colitis, cold fingers and toes.

Psychologically, imbalance of this chakra indicates that you do not feel supported in life and may be connected to financial difficulties. Fear is the demon of the root chakra which can lead to avoidance of many activities that you have previously done with ease.

Overcoming fears related to your back pain is an integral part of the healing process, alongside working with the lower aspects of the other chakras. Replace your fears with trust and know everything is in divine perfect order right now. Other emotional and mental signs that indicate this chakra is out of balance include: feeling insecure, self-pitying, ignorant, restless, selfish, aggressive and lacking in energy. These are all lower aspects of the root chakra that require balancing so you can move into the higher aspects of muladhara, raise your consciousness and free yourself from pain.

Bringing balance to Muladhara

The qualities of muladhara are strong, grounding and connect us to our physical existence here on Earth. In order for us to heal our physical body it is important to re-establish a connection to Mother Earth and nourish our body and mind with all the beauty she provides for us. You can do this by eating a wholesome diet, including all the fruits and vegetables from her bounty, and also spending time in nature to raise your vibrations, clear your mind and get rid of negative energy. Grounding poses also help to balance this chakra and visualizing roots extending from your body into the Earth strengthens your connection and foundations. Practice yoga directly on the Earth with bare feet on the grass for extra healing and restoration.

Today’s meditation practice will awaken the energy in your root chakra bringing balance to your physical existence here on Earth. You will create a solid foundation for your journey through the chakras by grounding your energy into the element of Earth and the material world we live in.

Enjoy today’s meditation, I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
