Relaxation is fundamental to healing the body and mind and is the foundation for yoga therapy. You will experience a very relaxing and healing yogic technique called yoga nidra.

Yoga Nidra meaning yoga sleep induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It delves deep down into the subconscious mind and brings about balance to all aspects of our being. Yoga Nidra is the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. You may appear to be asleep in yoga nidra, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. You are in a state between being awake and being asleep and the mind is extremely receptive.

Ayurveda meaning ‘science & wisdom of life’ is an ancient Indian philosophy and healing system based on a deep understanding of the body, mind & spirit in relation to living in balance & harmony with Mother Nature, the seasons and our environment. It originated in India over 5,000 years ago and provides us with tools that we can apply to every aspect of our lives to maintain optimal health and well-being.

Ayurveda is based upon the principles of the five elements, earth, water, fire, air and ether. Everything in the Universe is made up from these basic elements, they are the building blocks of life itself. Each of the elements makes up the three biological humours (vata, pitta and kapha doshas) of our body and mind.

Vier Elemente - Feuer Wasser Erde LuftThe whole entire Universe including the human body is made up of these elements in varying amounts making each and every one of us completely unique. No two people are ever the same and we all require different nutritional and lifestyle needs to sustain us in life.

Discover your unique mind-body type and learn the best and most powerful healing foods that you should include in your diet every day!

When ayurveda and yoga are combined, healing is greatly enhanced, more powerful and effective. Ayurveda works from the outside in, using diet and herbal medicines. Yoga works from the inside out, using asanas, pranayama and meditation. These 2 therapies work hand in hand to restore balance creating physical health and mental well-being.

The session will conclude with questions and answers so you have chance to learn more about some of the things that may come up for you during the workshop.
