I love how yoga has brought stillness into my very active life. I tried it as a way to relax and stretch tired muscles, but through practicing i noticed how it has changed my mind too. The pose i like most for physical reasons is pigeon pose as it helps stretch my ITB which can get very tight when switching between running and cycling. But my favourite pose of all is probably tree pose. It has shown me the connection between my mind and body - when my mind is still then i feel balanced.


I try to find a quiet place to practice whenever i am somewhere beautiful and can appreciate the peace."

I have had a very Spiritually Awakening few days, thanks in large part to Sharon's spiritual evening. It was a very peaceful and welcoming group, regardless of the fact that we were strangers at the beginning of the evening. After we had eaten, Sharon led us on a guided meditation. It was a very intense but relaxing journey. Towards the end of the meditation, Sharon instructed us to communicate with our angels, to ask for their name or their presence. During this time, I could clearly see Sharon's beautiful, white wings. I began to ask my angels to give me their names as Sharon suggested we ask for their presence. There was only one thing I could do, I called upon the spirit baby that has been with me for five and a half years. He had never let himself be known to me in the past, the only reason I know he's with me is that a friend had told me so. He'd communicated with my spirit baby in the past. On Monday evening, during that guided meditation, my spirit baby came to me. I felt him as surely as I feel my body. I feel so blessed and I am so grateful to Sharon, without her help I don't think I would've been able to call on him at all.”

Before I started my Ayurvedic yoga lifestyle course I found yoga to be quite intimidating and it did not play any part in my day to day life. I would get out of bed as late as possible and my meditation practice was very sporadic. I also paid little attention to my diet and didn't realize the significance of how much changing my diet could affect my mood.

Until my first class I found yoga to be quite intimidating and felt that only 'super fit' people with lots of time on their hands would be able to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. I was also worried that the other people in the class would be 'not my kind of people', but everyone was really down to earth and lovely.

As soon as I met Sharon I knew I was going to enjoy the course. Her welcoming and calm nature put me at ease instantly. “Before starting yoga around 8 months ago I was struggling to cope with controlling my irritable bowel syndrome. After 18 months of ruling out foods which I could no longer eat I was still having difficulties. The doctor put me onto antidepressants as new research showed that by relaxing the brain it could possibly help to relieve my symptoms.

"I have a healthy food diet, I drink vibrant juice (healthy fruit juice in the morning) and have fish almost every day and I try to avoid meat.  When I moved to England, the first month was tough as I have to adjust with new environment and living with my partner who prefer red meat and doesn't like fish, vegetable and fruit.  My diet slightly changed as I chose to cook and eat same food as my partner.

I practiced yoga 7 years ago but it was not so successful.  I had headache during the class so I was not a fan of yoga.  I believe when I had tried to do certain difficult poses, I held my breath and that caused my headaches.

"My name is Estelle and I am officially a yoga convert!

My boyfriend once said something to me that has always stuck in my mind – “why can’t you ever stick to anything?” He was right – everything was a fad, particularly when it came to diet and exercise! I was constantly doing some kind of fad diet to try and achieve my previous svelte like physique before I went to university and discovered alcohol and pizza and gave up playing hockey!! So one day about 6 months ago I decided to try one of Sharon’s yoga classes at the gym. I have to admit it took me a few sessions to ‘get it’ but soon found myself actually wanting to go back – not bribing myself to do exercise as I usually would.

Sharon’s yoga classes are great - I love how dynamic they are – I can feel my muscles burn after each session – and let me tell you I have recently burned in places I didn’t know existed! It had never occurred to me before that yoga could make you sweaty – it definitely can!! What I really like is how varied the classes are – each one is different and that definitely helps keep my attention. Each time I go I find myself wanting to do more – push myself that little bit harder to try and get my body into the positions Sharon can!  Each week I could feel myself getting stronger and a little more flexible, I have even started to recognise the energetic lines that Sharon keeps talking about.

Soon I was hooked and wanted more so I signed up to attend one of Sharon’s yoga lifestyle programmes. This was great – a tailored programme to show me just how yoga can fit into and benefit every aspect of my life. Sharon helped me discover what dosha I was and how it was imbalanced, she gave me dietary advice on how to rectify these imbalances, I have to admit it was hard to be really strict with the diet but it is amazing even what a few small changes can make. I have massively reduced my alcohol and meat intake to help pacify my pitta dosha and feel amazing for doing so!

The exercise programme was also tailored to my particular dosha and the goals I wanted to achieve. Sharon had come up with diverse and challenging exercises and postures which I am still desperate to perfect and develop! Soon yoga had become more than getting stronger and thinner, it became more than exercise. Sharon had helped me discover how to concentrate on simply just breathing and relaxing the mind. In her course she introduced me to meditation –at times practising this was difficult and occasionally emotional but all in all I found it calming. It’s like having a break from your thoughts – heaven when you have a crazy busy job and social life!

Sharon is a great teacher, her huge class size each week is testament to that! I love how enthusiastic she is about yoga and how passionate she is in helping people achieve their goals and adopting yoga into their everyday life. I also get the impression that as she develops her practise we will too – the other day she had us doing some tai chi to warm up! I would recommend her classes and lifestyle programme to every-one, she has certainly helped me develop a passion for yoga and is something I will continue to embrace for years to come.

"Having been part of a tough, grueling sport for over 15 years now my body has seen its fair share of injuries. These are becoming ever more prominent as I become older.

"My lifestyle before I started yoga I will be honest now has not changed a great deal. I have my daughter nearly every day so my days consist of cuddles, DVDs and getting dragged to feed the ducks. In turns of health wise, I rarely drink anyway and I don't smoke. I used to go to the gym to do weights a lot more before I started yoga and just was concerned with muscle as now I'm more concerned with my flexibility to help relieve pain and putting on muscle secondary.

I honestly had a few reservations about starting yoga as I saw it as predominantly female orientated practice, but me being me will give anything a try. I was also slightly concerned it would be very spiritual as I relish the physical aspects of yoga now as it’s very beneficial to me.
