The healing power of silence begins with controlling our thoughts. It is said that we have between 35,000 and 80,000 thoughts a day constantly bombarding our minds.
Quite often the same thoughts repeat themselves and are of no constructive use to our spiritual development. It is in our power to choose our own thoughts and become the masters of our own minds rather than obeying the dictates of the ego self. Once we notice negative thought forms arise, we can learn how to break those cycles and let go of these disturbances that hold us back.
By setting positive intentions and affirmations, we can replace negative thoughts as soon as they arise in our minds. Doing so raises our vibrations and consciousness to a purer level of existence where we have the potential to tap into the healing power of our own inner silence between the spaces of your divine thoughts.
Practicing silence helps us to take control of our monkey minds and gain clarity in our lives.
Take a moment every morning to stop for a moment and be still and silent.
Fill your whole being with peace, love and light and create a beautiful bubble of energy around your aura to protect your vibes from picking up on negative energy.
Keep this peaceful energy with you throughout the day and know that your bubble will protect you from harsh negative energies in your environment. Any time thoughts arise and your mind becomes busy, take a moment to be still and silent. Find your inner peace and clarity as you move into your day.
Do your thoughts serve you or are they causing you mental disturbance?
Our thoughts affect our emotion and energy levels. As you can see in this picture, negative thoughts make you feel dull and down draining all your energy whilst positive thoughts uplift you and make you feel bright and cheerful.
For one whole day, record your thoughts to distinguish if you are in control or that cheeky monkey is running wild controlling you!
Here’s what to do:
Divide your paper into two columns. On one side of the paper write useful and the other side not useful. Keep that piece of paper and a pen with you all day and every time you have a thought tally on the appropriate side. This is a great exercise to discover the quality of your own mind and to notice where your thoughts are directed.
Quite often we have thoughts that are not useful and occupy our mind taking us away from our goals and aspirations. By becoming aware of our thought processes, we can take control of that monkey mind and choose only positive loving thoughts that will bring us closer to liberation and ultimate happiness. This task can also be done for spiritual and material thoughts to gauge whether you need to pay extra attention to your spiritual thoughts to grow and evolve.
You may well be surprised by your results by doing these exercises!
We done this as part of our yoga psychology course in India and I had a lot less thoughts than I anticipated (less than 100 thoughts in the whole day – YES for real!) with an extremely high percentage of spiritual thoughts! My whole day was blessed as it just happened to fall on my silent fast day!
Ahhh… The divine synchronicity of being in the flow & trusting in life! <3
The angels guided me to wait until Tuesday to do a silent fast and when we were assigned the above exercise I smiled with deep appreciation and gratitude to be so in tune with Spirit. The day could not have been any more Divine!
