Seeking Silence & Solitude to hear the calling of your Spirit Within

Fasting & Silence are two of the most powerful techniques you can practice on your spiritual journey to purify your body, mind and Soul.

Yamas and niyamas are the foundations for living a yogic lifestyle.
The yamas address the external world we live in (restraints) while the niyamas look at our inner self (observances).

Saucha, one of the niyamas relates to purity of body, mind & spirit. Internally we should only consume pure food, drink and impressions. Externally we want our surroundings to be fresh, clean and tidy.

When taking part in a silent fast retreat it’s important to have a peaceful environment and I must say, as always, Spirit guided me to the most perfect sanctuary of peace. It turns out I stayed in Angel Valley it was so beautiful and serene.

Understanding the wisdom of ayurveda, I opted for warm drinks instead of water to keep my vata dosha in balance and only fasted for 40 hours which is slightly over for the recommended 36 hours for pitta.

During the fast I spent my time in meditation, praying, drumming and walking in the lush idyllic countryside of Wales with no one in sight just me, animals and Mother Nature. It was bliss feeling so connected to Spirit! <3

I broke my fast with the sweetest and juiciest pear, it was so delicious. The vata elements in me, air and space, guide me to have a nourishing soup for lunch, maybe leek & potato. One of the biggest benefits of fasting is that you learn how to trust your intuition more and you naturally know what you should consume to stay in balance. After my tasty pear, I drove to Colwyn Bay and lay on the beach watching the ebb and flow of the ocean, feeling her energies move through me with the rise and fall of each breath.

I could feel the prana from the sun absorbing into my skin, energizing me on a deep cellular level recharging my energies and lighting me up from the inside spreading waves of joy through my whole being radiating out into the world around me.

I walk down the beach sharing this beautiful energy with everyone in my path and end up in quirky little ‘Forget me not’ Cafe on the edge of town. You’ll never guess what the special of the day was! 😉

Oh yes! I savoured the most mouth watering leek and potato soup for lunch and was truly delighted Spirit guided me to exactly what my body longed for. I express gratitude for this gift from the Universe! <3

I head back to the campsite feeling extremely happy and satisfied and take a peaceful afternoon walk around the countryside with a clear mind, peaceful heart and lots of love and compassion emanating from within. <3

I enjoy another delicious pear and a peach for dinner feeling light, connected and purely divine as I retire to bed.

My final morning at Maes Y Bryn was so magical and I enjoyed the most incredible breakfast in town with the ever so lovely Beryl (owner of campsite). I done her an angel reading and we both were excited by her guidance, very accurate and heart warming as always! <3
