"I wasnt sure yoga would be for me as i do a lot of competitive sport but I really look forward to Sharon's classes. There is a great mix of challenging and relaxing postures and every class is different. I try to go twice a week and practice some of the postures at home when i get time.
My flexibility has definitely improved and i seem to stay injury free. I am sure it has helped my cycling and running too, improving both my core strength and my ability to stay in the moment and focus during a race. This type of yoga is a great contrast to the more intense training i do and i feel healthier and more relaxed for it.

A MISSION TO LOSE WEIGHT LED ME TO FINDING A MORE CONTENTED WAY OF LIVING!
I have been on a quest to lose weight for more years than I can remember and spent many an hour pounding the treadmill and cross trainers but not seeing that much benefit.
I always liked the idea of yoga and after being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis I was beginning to look at my whole lifestyle, my diet, exercise and a way to reduce stress as this seemed to be the main trigger for my illness.
I was pretty nervous on the first yoga session but as I sat down with my mat I saw Sharon’s friendly face and relaxed. I remember being very inflexible and balancing was almost impossible but the non-judgmental ambience of the class made me feel relaxed and everyone was just having fun.
The idea that people sit and meditate in the lotus position is so far removed from our classes. Yes you are meant to breathe and relax into the asanas but they can be demanding poses and flows and you can feel your body shaking as you build up core and body strength. I have sweated buckets at times in these sessions especially when Sharon interacts with her pupils helping them to move their bodies into the right postures. Sometimes you feel like your whole body is burning as you are holding a pose and you are thinking hurry up Sharon! Ha ha
Sharon is always there to help and is very approachable often given advice after class too.
I have definitely noticed a change in both my body and mind. I am beginning to feel much stronger and positive. It is such a buzz when you can hold poses with a little more ease week on week. Life can often cause a lot of stress and when I have had a really upsetting day and dragged myself to yoga, within minutes I feel calmer and happier. Leaving my worries behind for an hour focusing on such poses as Chaturangas (crocodiles) really helps you become more positive and fresher to deal with the outside world afterwards.
I have noticed that my colitis is much more manageable and without even seeing it happen I lost weight too! The classes have inspired me to do my own home practice something I wouldn’t have attempted before for fear of hurting myself. I am reading blogs and websites and wanting to become more knowledgeable about the practice and getting to know my own mind and body and what makes me feel better. I feel more confident in my mind, body and soul and I am living a much healthier lifestyle because of Sharon and yoga.

"I'm almost 34 and have 5 kids to run round after during the week, that can get very hectic and stressful when I work part time as well. After losing 2 stone through a local slimming group I realised I needed a bit of exercise to tone up. I started doing yoga a few months ago with Sharon and I found the classes to be very helpful and very calming. I do enjoy it very much and I find it really improves my mood. I am also finding that a lot of my old aches and pains are starting to slowly disappear! I feel healthier now than I did 10 years ago!

"I started taking part in yoga classes around May this year after briefly dabbling in it several years ago. I took the class because I found it affordable and wanted to be taught by an actual yoga instructor rather than someone who was not fully trained and was just teaching the basics.
Since starting the classes I have learnt about improving my posture, various breathing techniques and have noticed a marked improvement in my flexibility. I enjoy the classes as there are various levels of intensity for each pose which means that I can choose how much effort to put in, depending on my general condition and how much I wish to push myself. I have noticed that I am less stressed, more able to relax and sleep better, since taking sessions. Also, an injury to my shoulder now gives me much less pain and is barely noticeable.
I hope to continue the classes to keep my fitness up and progress to a more advanced level. Furthermore, I want to see how far I can advance and would like to try out different styles of yoga.
Sharon is an excellent yoga instructor who was nurtured my burgeoning interest in yoga and is helping me to achieve my full potential."
